So, today was Eryn's last day of school, but I did not want her to go because then I would have to pick her up early, resulting in kids naps being interrupted (okay, MY nap being interrupted, but that is beside the point). I hate it when they get out early...so I begin to formulate an evil plan to rob my child of her school memories (don't judge me...)
How can I get Eryn to stay home on her last of 1st grade? (insert evil, maniacal laughter here)
(light bulb!) I will bribe her with the promise of candy!
It works and she agrees to stay home.
So at the store, Ryan is super-duper cranky. I am trying to hold on to him while all the kids are picking out their special treat, when he decides to throw himself on the ground and throw a tantrum; so I am not paying enough attention to what they are picking out. Eryn pointed in the general direction of the Werther's Candy section, and I say okay to get us moving on.
As we are checking out Ryan is still fighting me on whatever it is he is cranky about, so my attention is once again diverted to just getting this trip over with.
We get home and now the kids may open up their candy and have a couple of pieces. I am busy with Ryan still when Eryn comes over to share a piece of candy with me (isn't she sweet?). To my horror, on the Werther candy package, just on the edge, reads:
COFFEE.
WHAT?!?!
I have just helped my daughter to break the Word of Wisdom...that's what I get for trying to steal her childhood away. Sigh....
What is that scripture...the sins of the children will be answered on the heads of the parents....?
On a brighter note...she is seven and will be baptized next year...
